Welcome to Three Bears Quilting

Three Bears Quilting is an award winning, professional long arm quilt business located in the quaint village of Oriental, North Carolina. Our non-smoking, pet free “quilt cottage” is home to our Gammill Optimum long arm machine interfaced with a Statler Stitcher. We offer excellent work for a reasonable price. Quilt Judges love our tension and overall stitch quality. In fact, the Bears have been awarded "best machine quilting" in the last two shows that we entered.

We quilt everything from wall hangings and baby quilts to king-size quilts measuring 110" wide, any length, and love to give personal service to our customers.

We welcome your visits to our studio by appointment.  We are able to schedule 1/2 hour appointments most any afternoon Mon-Fri. We are within a short drive from New Bern, Beaufort, Morehead City and Atlantic Beach. Just call or email to set up a time.

  • For our customers in Chapel Hill, Durham and the Triangle:  We pick up and drop off quilts at Thimble Pleasures in Chapel Hill every four weeks or so:  You may leave your quilt, backing and batting (if you have batting) with the staff any time prior to our pick up date. Margaret will contact you by phone or email to discuss your quilt before any work is done.   As the Bears move into their summer schedule, the next TWO pick up/drop off dates are Thursday June 26th and Thursday Aug 14th.  Don't forget, if you miss our visit to Thimble Pleasures, you can always send your quilts to our secure Post Office Box.  Please note that the Bears now offer return shipping for a flat rate of 10.00.   Please review our shipping instructions.

Lead time:  Currently, the Bears have a lead time of 10-12 weeks.  Please keep our lead times in mind when planning to give a quilt as a gift or to enter in a show.  We work on our quilts in the order in which they are received by us.  We don't have a special rush charge, because we don't offer a rush service.  We appreciate each and every one of our customers for allowing us the time to do the best possible work on every single quilt.
